Meetings begin at 6:00 PM. Agendas are posted in the window of City Hall, on the Post Office bulletin board and on this website. If you would like to appear before the Council you must contact City Hall before 12:00 PM on the Wednesday before the next City Council meeting to be placed on the agenda. Council Agendas & Minutes Notice of Intent to Appoint You are hereby notified that the City of Fremont, Iowa has received and accepted the resignation of Deana Hamilton, elected to the 4-year term as Council Member of the City of Fremont, Iowa effective December 31, 2025. You are further notified that pursuant to Section 372.13 of the Code of Iowa, the Council has elected to fill the vacancy by appointment. To be eligible for consideration for appointment Code of Iowa Section 39.27 requires that the candidate be an eligible elector and a resident of the City for which the person seeks to represent. Persons interested in appointment to the vacancy must submit a letter of intent to the City Clerk at Fremont City Hall, 105 East Main Street. No later than Tuesday, February 24, 2026, by 3:00 P.M. The electors of the City have the right to file a petition requiring that the vacancy be filled by a special election. The appointment shall be for the period until the next pending election, as defined by Section 69.12 of the Code of Iowa. Action if any concerning the appointment will be taken during the regular council meeting, March 2, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. at the Fremont City Hall, 105 East Main.
